UCP capability

Reorder capability

What a shop means when its agent profile names com.zaltric.shopping.reorder.

What it is

A capability in the Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP) is something a shop says it can do, in the agent profile it publishes at /.well-known/ucp. This one is Zaltric's, which is why its name starts com.zaltric and why this page and its schema are on zaltric.com.

It is for a customer who already has an account with the shop. They sign in from their AI assistant, on the shop's own sign-in page. After that, the shop shares with it the recent confirmed purchases of the customer's company, colleagues' included (their own, if they buy for no company), and one of them can go back in a basket.

The scope

The shop's profile offers one scope for it, under the standard identity linking capability: com.zaltric.shopping.reorder:read. The customer grants it on a page the shop shows them after they sign in. It covers reading the recent confirmed orders of that customer's company on that shop, colleagues' orders included, and any one confirmed order of that company by its order number. Granting it also lets the shop share the prices it gives that customer, the first thing that page lists.

The two tools

A shop window that answers this capability offers two tools to an AI assistant signed in with that scope:

One order in full

From module 6.16.0 the shop's profile also declares the UCP standard's own order capability, dev.ucp.shopping.order, beside this one. The shop window answers it through the standard's own get_order tool, under the same scope, to a customer's assistant once the customer has signed in. What it returns is any one confirmed order of the customer's company, in full, by its order number, read from the shop's own record of it. That is not a third tool of this capability; it is the standard's.

What that read carries: each line with the shop's own product name, the unit price paid before tax, and how many were ordered and how many have been delivered; the order's totals (goods, delivery, any discount, tax, total); where it is being sent; and what the shop knows of delivery so far, with the date the goods left, the carrier, the tracking number and the tracking link when the shop has them. It also carries a link to the order's own page on the shop. A shop that does not run Odoo's Inventory app sends no hand-overs and "nothing delivered yet" on every line. The list of recent orders now names each product too.

Reads only: nothing is ordered, and the read changes nothing on the shop.

What it does not do

Nothing here places an order. reorder fills a basket, and the customer finishes on the shop's own checkout, exactly as with any other basket from an AI assistant.

The schema

The capability's schema is at /ucp/schemas/reorder.json. This version carries no settings of its own, so a shop declares it with no configuration, and the schema refuses one.
